Equisetum arvense

HORSETAIL

Equisetum arvense (Horsetail) is an astringent, healing herb that is more related to the fern family than flowering plants.

The stems of horsetail are rich in bio-available silica, as well as magnesium, calcium and iron.

The presence of a saponin (equisetonin) and various flavonoids in horsetail's composition give it a mild diuretic action, and epithelial tissue regenerative and strengthening properties.
