ALOE (VERA)

Aloe barbadensis (commonly known as "Aloe vera ") is a cactus-like succulent plant that was used abundantly in ancient Egypt and Greece, and in Chinese medicine as early as the 11th century.

The soothing, mucilage-rich gel from Aloe barbadensis is obtained from the inner filet of its fresh leaves.

Aloe gel contains polysaccharides and glycoproteins - active compounds that together reduce pain and inflammation, stimulate cell proliferation and promote skin repair. It is often used both externally and internally for its soothing, wound-healing properties and as a general tonic for the digestion.
