The main chemical constituents of Patchouli Essential Oil include: a-bulnesene, a-guaiene, a-patchoulene, b-caryophyllene, camphene, cinnamic aldehyde, eugenol, limonene, patchoulol (40%) and pogostol.

About Patchouli Essential Oil:

Earthy patchouli essential oil imposes sedating and grounding properties on stressful situations. It is said to alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety, and help bring balance and grounding to the overly intellectual or the flighty. Patchouli's deep, rich aroma adds a sensuous oriental note to mood perfumes and it is a relaxing, uplifting and sensual aphrodisiac.

On the skin, Patchouli essential oil is astringent, germicidal and neutralizing. Well diluted, it makes a warming, embracing skin or facial oil for dry, tired or aging skin, and may providce relief for inflamed, cracked skin and wounds.

A couple of drops of Patchouli added to your shampoo or rinsing water can help in the treatment of dandruff and scalp complaints. Its germicidal and neutralizing properties make it an excellent topical treatment for athlete's foot and a soothing calmative for insect bites.
