Although closely related to Peppermint, Spearmint Essential Oil contains far less menthol, making it a gentler alternative for children. For the temporary relief of nausea, indigestion and colic, use in a vaporizer or gently massage diluted spearmint essential oil into the abdomen in a clockwise direction.

Spearmint is calming and, being a lighter and more carefree aroma than peppermint, it may be used as a gentler alternative to ease away the symptoms of motion sickness and short term relief of hangover or morning sickness. Vaporization or direct inhalation from the bottle are appropriate, or make up a refreshing spritzer (see dilution/usage guidelines) with spring water and an aromatherapy solubilizer, to take while travelling.
