History of AlchemillaWhat started as a little girl’s captivation with a packet of ‘Bambi’ flower seeds has blossomed decades later into Alchemilla Ultra Pure Skin Care. Company founder Deanna Brand recalls the awe and wonder she felt when, at the age of six, she first witnessed the metamorphosis of seed to flower: "Once I saw how those tiny seeds transform themselves into a group of flowers, I was captivated. I knew I was meant to be with plants.” she said. “It is a divine blessing and I’m not sure why I’ve been bestowed with it, but I just needed a tiny hint – like the Bambi seeds – to realize that digging the soil, fussing with leaves and flowers, and just being in the presence of plants completely fulfilled me – artistically, scientifically and spiritually.” Deanna always maintained her love of, and involvement with, plants, especially useful and medicinal varieties. She eventually went on to study horticulture and train in naturopathy and became a qualified masseuse - all positive contributions toward her current understanding of the human body and the role that plants play to keep it healthy. It was during the years of study that she realized that another fascination she had had since the age of 12 with beauty products, and later aromatherapy essential oils, could be combined with her passion for plants and natural healing, to create a business that involves bringing all of these elements together and, at the same time, increase general awareness and appreciation for the role that plants play in helping humans to stay healthy and in balance. Over the next ten years of research and development, Deanna and her husband (molecular biologist, Brian Vazquez) combined the best of both science and nature to create some of the purest, most effective plant-based organic skin care products available today – Alchemilla Ultra Pure Skin Care.
