A Little about our Organic Growing Methods

To Alchemilla, growing the organic ingredients for our skin care products ourselves, means that we are doing our part to heal the earth while promoting a cleaner, safer, less toxic living environment for all beings.

Rather than an approach of "kill everything we don't want" (and effectively kill everything we do want in the process), we use holistic growing techniques that promote balance and vitality in the soil and encourage beneficial insects to stay, work and multiply.

In addition to the physically tangible aspects of growing plants, we also consider the unseen forces that impact the crop's robustness. We plant, harvest and process our raw materials in accordance the astrological charts and use natural and holistic remedies to address imbalances and improve soil vitality.

With organic growing there is no toxic chemical run-off from our property, which would otherwise poison waterways and reinforce an imbalanced eco-system. As a result, we are able to avoid producing skin care products that contain poisonous chemical pesticide residues while we heal our little portion of the earth.

In our many years of horticultural experience, we have found that chemical-free, naturally fertile, well-balanced soil is the only tried and true sustainable means of producing superior plants express superior aroma and vitality.
